At 5:28 p.m., officers responded to Pleasant Hill Road for a report of a black Toyota driving erratically, Mount Olive police said. The vehicle was located on Main Street, where it was involved in a crash just prior to officers' arrival, police said. Neither driver was injured in the crash, police said.

The driver of the Toyota, Glenn Cannon, appeared to be impaired, police said.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Cannon had struck a telephone pole, a mailbox and a street sign prior to striking the other vehicle, police said. Cannon was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, police said.

He was charged with DWI, reckless driving and other vehicle infractions. He was released to a sober driver pending a court hearing.
